Abstract

Storage is a vast and dynamic process since it involves everything from receiving materials to delivering the finished product to the final customer. Three are the basic functions of warehousing: information transfer, storage, and material handling. To ensure the health and safety of employees, some rules must be followed, and for them to be put into practice, the organization undergoes inspections. If, by any chance, it is proven that the rules are not being followed, the company will end up suffering heavy penalties and fines. In addition, we can emphasize the importance of handling equipment within a warehouse; they are the ones that guarantee the fluidity of the processes when the request for material requisitions arrives. The purpose of this article is to explain what material handling is, what the handling equipment is, the handling and requisitioning of materials, and the specific legislation aimed at this action. To support the discussions on the theme, it was essential to research to lay the theoretical foundation.
