Popular awareness and scientific studies about the damage to the environment caused by industrial activities have grown progressively over the years. From this, the need arises for companies to adopt an Environmental Management System that optimizes the use of their natural resources, guaranteeing trust and, at the same time, competitiveness. ISO14001 enters as the most recognized standard worldwide for this purpose and it is possible to measure its relevance and verify its data through the ISO Survey data platform. The work will explore this platform and bring certificate issuance data from countries and industrial sectors around the world over the years. To assist in the project, research was carried out on quality management and the ISO9001 standard, sustainability, environmental management, and the ISO14000 family of standards. Through the platform data, bar, Pareto and scatter charts were produced with different analyzes between continents, industrial sectors and relationships with socioeconomic factors such as GDP per capita. The results brought analyzes of the global growth trend of the norm, with some particularities, in addition to the list of the largest countries and sectors that issue the norm in the world and by continent. In addition, information was obtained on which countries have a higher or lower ratio between their GDP per capita and the number of ISO 14001 certificates per capita. With the project, it was possible to learn more about the ISO standard and institution as a whole, in addition to confirming the rise of sustainability and Environmental Management Systems worldwide.
