Abstract

This research evaluates the current context of formal education in Logistics in undergraduate courses, in Civil Engineering as in Business Administration, in the Campinas Metropolitan Region. Its main objectives are the analysis of the increasing demand for Logistics professionals, the following increase in the number of courses to prepare adequately to work in this area and to propose directives that may help in the elaboration of pedagogical projects that are more appropriate to the real working needs. This is a data collection research, as well as a case study considering the Campinas Metropolitan Region. Research method deals with the necessary skills to the function, the student profile, curricular grades of the courses and characteristics of the job market. Regional social economic aspects are presented along with the transport infrastructure, industry, commerce and services, configuring the scenario for acting in Logistics in a highly competitive market. A general context analysis, through this study, leads to the conclusion that courses should be more specific, followed by regulation authorities connected with private organizations and educational entities to promote standards with a minimal curricular program to be accomplished.
