Capacity for Social Innovation in the Third Sector and Social Business

Civil Society Organizations, Business Foundations, and Social Businesses are distinct organizational types, but their aim is to reduce social problems. In this context, the ability to create socially accepted alternatives and promote changes towards social well-being gains im-portance with Social Innovation. The aim of this study is to identify good practices and determinants of the Capacity for Social Innovation, pointing out ways to improve the organizations with social purpose towards social innovation. The research methodology is characterized as descriptive qualitative. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire and had the participation of eight organizations. It seeks to describe the determining factors of the Capacity for Social Innovation in Civil Society Organizations and Social Businesses. The factors were adapted considering the Social Innovation literature. The results reveal that Social Businesses are the ones that made the greatest effort for the Co-creation of Social Innovation.
