Abstract

This study aims to analyze whether legislation and public policy to stimulate Brazilian science and technology, especially Law No. 13.243 / 2016 and the federal government's National Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy (2016-2022), have determinations and guidelines capable of promoting the production of intellectual property specifically aligned with the notion of frugal innovation. For this, an exploratory research was carried out, involving primarily bibliographic survey and documentary research. It was concluded that there is a possible alignment of the analyzed documents with the stimulus to the production, protection, and exploitation of frugal innovation, although there is no explicit determination in this regard.
