Proposition of initiatives to increase innovation capability in a small organization

The focus of study is a small organization was impacted by the reduction in demand in recent years, due to the retraction of its market. This resulted in an urgent need to prospect for new markets and offer innovative solutions. This article aims to present the process of developing initiatives to increase the capacity for innovation. For this, the Soft Design Science Research method was applied, which considers the central approaches of the Design Science Research methodology. It is development was based on the evaluation of innovation management proposed by the methodology of the National Innovation Award Edition 2016/2017 to explain and prioritize gaps, being the association of these with guidelines identified in the literature for the refinement of the innovation capability. As a result, ten initiatives were developed to develop a set of fundamentals that underpin this capability.
