Abstract

Internationalization has been one of the expansion strategies used by companies to achieve competitiveness and high performance. This study aimed to analyze the contribution of strategic partnerships to the process of internationalization and competitive advantage of the Brazilian multinationals in the information technology sector. The research is characterized as qualitative, with a descriptive character. It was a case study, which data were collected through documentary data and the application of semi-structured questionnaire with the managers of brazilian multinational company of the technology sector. The data analysis made it possible to verify that the information technology sector has specificities that require strategic partnerships and that these were fundamental in the internationalization process of the company. It is concluded that strategic partnerships are as important in the process of internationalization of companies, as to obtain a competitive advantage for the organizations.
