Abstract

This study aims to explore successful formal female entrepreneurship experiences in the city of Beira. 12 women entrepreneurs from various sectors were interviewed for a qualitative research study. The findings show that the success of women entrepreneurs in Beira is influenced by various factors, primarily access to financial resources, effective management practices, and the ability to balance personal and business life. This study enhances the understanding of how Mozambican women overcome the barriers imposed by their social context to achieve entrepreneurial success within the framework of social feminist theory. Furthermore, the study offers valuable implications for policymakers, proposing actions to create an environment that allows women to leverage their businesses.
