Ser Educacional's Business School began its innovative journey with the first class of students in the distance learning programs in Administration, Accounting, Management Processes, and Logistics, offering academic training integrated with professional practice. In this project, a student was selected as a junior consultant to work, under faculty guidance, in two businesses selected through a public notice: one offering affordable makeup and the other providing consulting services for entrepreneurs. The businesses faced challenges with suppliers and client acquisition, but diagnostics revealed more structural problems, such as a lack of strategic positioning and product uncertainty. The intervention enabled actions such as repositioning the cosmetics and structuring a consulting service. The experience generated a positive impact on both the businesses served and the students’ education, highlighting the value of hands-on learning. This article reports on this experience, discusses its results, and analyzes the potential for replication of the methodology.
