Resumen

Este artigo analisa as atividades recentes relacionadas à Agenda 2030 e aos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) em Espoo, segunda maior cidade da Finlândia. Reconhecida em 2016 como a “cidade mais sustentável da Europa”, Espoo intensificou, desde então, seus esforços para integrar o desenvolvimento sustentável como objetivo intersetorial. Contudo, sua abordagem baseia-se fortemente na inovação tecnológica como solução simultânea para os desafios ambientais e o crescimento econômico, o que pode limitar a eficácia das políticas de sustentabilidade diante da urgência da crise climática.

Eva Purkarthofer, Aalto University, Finland

Eva Purkarthofer é pesquisadora de pós-doutorado na Universidade Aalto, na Finlândia. É editora-chefe do European Journal of Spatial Development e coordena o grupo temático Transboundary Planning and Governance da AESOP. Seus interesses incluem desenvolvimento espacial europeu, Política de Coesão da UE, planejamento urbano e regional estratégico, culturas de planejamento e o papel de atores e instituições. Atualmente, pesquisa o desenvolvimento urbano sustentável como uma ideia de planejamento viajante.
