COVID-19 pandemic and the experiences of black women in the periphery

This text explores the experiences of black women living in Cidade Tiradentes (east side of São Paulo) during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the difficulties they faced and the importance of solidarity and resilience. The text points to the overload of work, the impossibility of adequate social isolation, and the impacts on physical and mental health. In conclusion, the text emphasizes the importance of solidarity, resilience, and autonomy of peripheral women in Cidade Tiradentes, as well as the urgency of public policies that consider gender perspectives in the post-pandemic reconstruction.
