Abstract

This study investigates the role of startups in the transformation of the industry in the era of Industry 4.0. The research employs inclusion criteria and the Scopus and Web of Science (WOS) databases to search for articles published in the last five years. The results emphasize the importance of startups in the innovation and digital transformation of Industry 4.0, promoting the adoption of emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, and Big Data. Thematic analysis reveals three main axes: the integration of Industry 4.0 in different contexts, the management of startups in the era of Industry 4.0, and the challenges and success factors in implementing Industry 4.0. In conclusion, startups play a central role in the innovation and digital transformation of Industry 4.0, but further research is needed to fully understand the challenges and opportunities they face.
