Abstract

The article aimed to verify the perception of academics about bootstrapping and innovation events, to identify how the promotion of ideas occurs in the university environment and the degree of knowledge of academics about the start of a company. Bootstrapping, basically, is about the initial contribution that adjusts the project in a coherent way so that it can be presented for incubation or even for potential investors. This is a quantitative, descriptive research, with data collection carried out through the application of questionnaires to academics of courses in the area of management and business, from a community university in Santa Catarina and a federal university in Paraná. The article describes the importance of innovation, ecosystems, and the entrepreneurial profile, contextualizes bootstrapping and its importance. At the end, the research findings were discussed, from which conclusions can be reached about the importance of the theme in awakening the entrepreneurial profile, in knowledge management and the importance of mentoring in the initial stages.
