A homogeneidade de uma doutrina uma breve análise do governo Eisenhower na Indonésia e no Líbano (1950-1958)

Resumo

O presente artigo propõe um estudo sobre a homogeneidade existente nas doutrinas de política externa adotadas pelos Estados Unidos da América. Para tal, será analisado as estratégias adotadas pelo governo de Dwight Eisenhower (1953-1961) em duas ocasiões: a tentativa de golpe de Estado na República da Indonésia e revoltas populares na República do Líbano, ambos ocorridos em 1958. A metodologia utilizada baseia-se em uma adaptação do conceito de “três imagens” desenvolvido por Kenneth Waltz em “O Homem, O Estado e a Guerra” (2004). A conclusão desenvolvida aponta para elementos de não homogeneidade no tratamento das duas situações, indicando que o comportamento em matéria de política externa adotado no período divergiu de uma diretriz geral, genérica e universal.
